Make it Matter Leaders

MiM works with a few kids in their high schools to help cultivate a student's desire to be a civic leader. MiM Leaders coordinate their school's MiM Mobs and train for a greater role as organizers and facilitators.  On successful completion of three years as a MiM Leader, participants are eligible for a MiM scholarship, which will be based on the number of participating leaders and the amount of service completed.

MiM Leaders generally come on board as sophomores, although freshmen are welcome, and each leader chooses a successor in their junior year to train during their senior year.

Each MiM Leader in a school commits to participate in helping organize one MiM-sponsored event each semester they are in school and attending four MiM Leader seminars. MiM Leader events are part team-building, part educational. They present a chance for area high school leaders to network in a semi-professional capacity and to discuss different methods of finding ways to help in their communities. The MiM Leadership seminars will  feature a speaker from either a MiM Campus Partner or a MiM Professional Facilitator who will talk about how community service plays a role in their lives. Seminars will also feature technical training in the area of the speaker's expertise.

MiM Leaders should come recommended by a school official and should be students who would benefit from participating while also being an asset to the movement. All MiM Leaders will be encouraged to become Campus Partners at the college of their choice.

All MiM community service hours will be logged and submitted to the school as well as the local board of education.
